Hydrographer1 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I have a Beutler SmartVent in my 2 story Roseville home built in 1998. I recently replaced the thermostat upstairs in the master bedroom with a new Robert Shaw thermostat which has a larger digital readout for easier viewing. However, now it seems that the Z Tech SmartVent thermostat in the upstairs hallway is not working properly. Although the vent to the outside air will turn on when set to "Auto", it seems to be performing opposite what it should be doing. With the Vent set to "Auto", the blower will shut off if I raise the thermostat setting. Whereas, if I lower the setting on this Z Tech SmartVent thermostat, the blower will remain on all day, even when the outside temperature warms up considerably! I was wondering if I had failed to install the new Robert Shaw thermostat properly, or if there might be a bad sensor in the Z Tech SmartVent thermostat. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
