C Martin Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Michel, Single item or "One Time" with some Advanced Scheduling Options: There are times when sinlge or "One Time" Schedules are needed for multiple days or dates. I know that "One Time" scheduling is possible, but do we Now have, or Can we, in the Future, have the ability to Click on Multiple Calendar Dates for these "One Time" schedules to happen? If not, could this happen using the "Ctrl" click event to select Multiple dates? So, some event can be scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday for this week, or for the first Monday of this month, the second Tuesday of next month and so on...? I hope I'm not being a burden with these request? Regards, Clarence
Chris Jahn Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Clarence, The new scheduler (planned for Release 2.5) will allow you to enter many specific dates and/or date ranges for a "One time" event. You can also specify a date range, and within that range specify the weekday(s), and time(s) of day the event should run. The new design does not currently have "Run on the 15th of every month", or "Run on the first Monday of the Month", but we'll see if something like that can be added. Sub-Routine Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I would appreciate the ability to create a Holiday schedule. I mean like adding another day to the seven already listed. That is, when a date is marked as a holiday none of the usual daily (weekdays and weekends, as I use them) events would occur, they would be replaced by the Holiday schedule. Does that make sense? Is that what is already being planned? It's something that caught my eye when I first discovered Insteon. Of course, SmartHome never implemented it. Now that I think about it, I might find use for more than one predefined Holiday schedule Thank you, Rand

That would be a very nice enhancement, sort of the way you might schedule recurring appointments. Thanks George
C Martin Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Chris, Thanks for the update and I am really looking forward to the 2.5 Version.
Chris Jahn Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 C Martin, GPG, Supporting a monthly recurring schedule is a great idea, although I'm not sure if it will make it into the first release of the new scheduler code. Sub-Routine, You will be able to do this by creating a schedule (or trigger), that allows a specified set of triggers/schedules to operate only during that time, and a different set to operate only outside of that time. This is actually a specific case of the more general mechanism. As we get closer to shipping, I'll be adding details to the Wiki so you'll have a better idea as to whats to come.
