Cannot backup ISY

On my ISY994i version 4.0.5, I cannot save a backup. When I select backup ISY, the selection window (Mac, Java version 7 update 45), folder icons etc. are weird, and some are missing. I can navigate to the desktop or documents folder, but wherever I choose it fails and says cannot create zip file.

I've tried using the https version of the admin console just in case, but that just throws all kinds of security errors logging in and gets me nowhere. Is there an issue with the newest java, or am I missing something?

I've of course deleted all my java caches etc.

Hi smokegrub,

Please submit a ticket (links below).

With kind regards,

Michel

We got this one resolved in another thread this afternoon. Was a combo of Safari download options and Java security settings.

Xathros,

I am having the same problem.  I get the message : "Cannot save zip file".  It has nothing to do with Mavericks on our end. Issue happens on OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8. It works with Firefox.

We searched the forum for the answer but came up empty handed.

Would you happen to know what Safari download options and Java security settings need to be changed?

Thanks,

Gina

Hi Gina-

In Safari Preferences, General Tab, Uncheck "Open safe files after downloading"

In System Preferences, Java, Security, add your ISY's url to the exception list.

Hope this helps.

Oops!  I missed one item:

In Safari Preferences, Select Security Tab, Check in Allow Plugins, then click Website settings next to that check box, Select Java on the left and find the ISY url on the right, set that to run in Unsafe mode.

Where is it attempting to save the zip file?  Make sure its to a location that you have write privileges.

Have you installed the Java application to your desktop or do you access the admin console via the browser each time?  If via browser, I recommend that your install the application instead.
