Java Anyone?

I just updated my Java version and am now getting a Security Exception (Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar: http://.../insteon.jar) when I try to launch the admin console. Does anyone know how to fix this one?

I've already closed and relaunched my browser and rebooted my PC.

Okay, I have a workaround, but I'd still like to find a solution. I went into the Java Control Panel on my PC, opened the Security tab and lowed my security level from the default of High to Medium. This allows me to run the admin console short term. I'm still wondering if anyone knows how to fix the underlying permissions issue.

Thanks.

You can also leave your security settings where they are and put the name of the web site that refers to your ISY in your Java security exceptions. This is better than turning down your security for everything, but it would still be nice to solve the original issue.

Thanks.

FYI this has been posted quite a few times now. As to the issue, the newer versions of Java are improving their security profile by starting to require a manifest file. UDI will have to include that moving forward (and I am sure they will). But the change means apps shipped without it will have to be specifically allowed.

Michel,

This doesn't quite work for me. I'd like to launch my admin console directly from my browser and as part of the "regular" ISY application (as it used to be). Now, with the jnlp link you provided, every time I want to open the admin console, I need to find this link (guess I could bookmark it?), click it and then download the file (where the admin console automatically launches). Is there something I can do to simplify?

Thanks!
