There are a few options out there for UPB I just really liked the ISY. I am waiting on a few quotes for the UPB devices and if I get a good enough price for a bulk purchase I will rip out the Insteon shortly as I have a few things not working because of dead devices. I had lamost 8 or so in the past month and it is just to expensive to replace them so often. SH is back to no honoring the warranty again so thats that. I will remember to send you the switch I owe you. Zwave is more expensive (for me as I dont have a direct account with them) and the WAF for the look of the switches is low. Thanks for everything. Since each Z-Wave network needs a master controller, wouldn't you be stuck with only using advanced features from devices that are the same brand as the master controller? Don't Elk panels and other third party devices have some unresolved issues in communicating with Z-Wave networks? If I was going to migrate away from Insteon, I'm not convinced that Z-Wave would be the best answer! Link to comment

I have a project I would like to interface with z-wave, and your Java API makes that much easier for me than some of your competitors, but if this product is still far off, writing a Java wrapper library would be much quicker for me. Brian H Posted February 13, 2010 Share Posted February 13, 2010 One point on a mixed ZWave and Insteon system. I bought some Intermatic Home Settings ZWave modules. When they where being phased out and dirt cheap. Since they don't use power line signals. They have a very large capacitor across the AC line for noise. This capacitor absorbes X10 and Insteon signals big time. Link to comment
