Event viewer question RE: "Time"

Trying to track down a couple of issues via my event viewer (this question has nothing to do with what I was looking for) and it often shows the same entry many times when checking the time. The following message was listed 67 times this morning.

Sun03/23/2014 06:57:38 : [ Time] 06:57:44 14(0)Sun 03/23/2014 06:57:38 : [ Time] 06:57:44 14(0)

I often see a time check, that's what I'm assuming it is doing, every 10 minutes but why the same check so often??

But is there a reason that I have periods when it checks 50+ times at the exact same time? I can understand it checking every 10 minutes.

Ah, it's dependent on the number of programs that I have that have timed events involved. That makes sense.

Thanks.
