Elk Logging

Greetings.

 

Is there a way to see logs about zone status changes? The default log doesn't have any zone info. It only has basic arm/disarm status. Can the logging level of the Elk be increased?

Event viewer logs elk zone changes. But you would have to leave your ISY admin console running with event viewer open to capture that.

And that's the problem. The ISY does not log those events. I separately posted this question from an ISY perspective in the Q&A section.

I think the OP means in the background logging to be looked at when next logging on...

My desire is to have all events in a log on the ISY: Insteon, Zwave, IR commands, Elk events, etc.

 

Since the ISY is not logging Elk events, I separately created this post here so I could hopefully capture the Elk logs separately. Seems a system used for physical security would have better logging and was hoping there was a way to increase the logging level on the Elk M1.

Logged by ISY or Elk? I downloaded the Log from ISY and didn't see any. My logs are pretty noisy though so it's possible I missed it.

 

The Elk by default only logs basic Arm/Disarm events, which is disappointing. Hence my post looking to increase the logging level.

Logging by ISY. There are certainly some events that we log including Speak word ... I am still digging. Please forgive the delay as the guru is heads down doing Z-Wave.

Thanks. For efforts of logging on the ISY I had created another thread for that. Probably best to update that one instead of this one which was intended to ask questions about local logging on the Elk itself. (since I was catching them on the ISY) They're two sides of the same coin for me, but the other thread will be more likely read by others with questions about ISY logging.
