lights randomly turning on

I have a 994 running 4.0.5 firmware and have been noticing some random lights being on in the morning. I've pulled logs a couple times now and don't see anything out of the ordinary, however with a case of insomnia I witnessed an "event" happen this morning where an alarm (IOLinc) appears to have triggered and the family room lights went to full bright. The log output is below.

What is REALLY strange is the fireplace spots went on to 100% brightness, but are NOT reflected in the log! My daughter tells me that "something" is on almost daily in the morning when she gets out of bed, however I still don't see it. The error log isn't showing any activity at this time - however I have no idea what this stuff is either

Only ONE change, a switch replacement late last week - and I did a swap with the ISY. This seems to have been happening for about a month now, and I hadn't given it too much thought till now. I haven't done anything to the system, programs, or otherwise until a switch crapped out last week (hence the swap-out). Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't have any X10 in my system, but I did see that as well. I'm not sure where its coming from however. According to the log X10 is getting a control of "P13", value "Off (11)", but no idea whats generating this. I'm guessing that translates loosely to housecode "P", device "13", and an off signal to device "11"?

No idea whats generating that, but more importantly why its affecting insteon devices that aren't even showing in the log?

I have many X-10 motion sensors that control Insteon modules directly and the ISY doesn't know they are being operated. My programmes usually include a dummy command to turn the (already on) Insteon module on just so ISY knows it is on. The ISY sees the X-10 command on the powerlines but sees no status change report from the affected Insteon module(s).

I second Brian H's idea about an Insteon device with an X-10 link installed in it. Now you may have a neighbour with an Insteon system affecting you.

Assuming you factory reset all these Insteon devices when you installed them, does anybody know if a factory reset removes X-10 links in Insteon devices?

It does.

An X10 device would be required to eliminate any X10 response from Insteon devices without factory resetting them.

Perhaps a wired keypad can be borrowed from a neighbour that is sending the X10 codes, assuming the X10 events are real signals.

Years back I had X10 devices that suddenly started turning themselves on and off in the idle of the night. This happened many times after that. After attempting to figure who the techie neighbour was, in frustration I wrote some loops to send all lights on and off for a few hours on the same house code. I never saw a house with flashing lights but it stopped and never happened again. Either the neighbour took the units back or changed his house code not to interfere with mine. :)
