KeypadLinc LED responding to another button

First, forgive me if I use the wrong terminology.

I have a KeypadLinc 2334-2 6 button keypad (reported in ISY as 5 Buttons v.43). Named "Front Door Switch" it shows up as:

  • [*:245vbz0l]Front Door Switch
    [*:245vbz0l]Front Door Switch - A
    [*:245vbz0l]Front Door Switch - B
    [*:245vbz0l]Front Door Switch - C
    [*:245vbz0l]Front Door Switch - D

The On and Off button (big ones at the top and bottom) control the internal dimmer connected to a stand-alone light.

A is programmed as a controller for the light of the FanLinc. It works as expected (tap = on/off, double-tap = instant on/off, hold = dim/brighten).

B is programmed as "Fan High" I set it as a toggle, so tap it once, fan goes on high and button B LED lights, tap it again both go off. It's also a controller for LED button C, which it turns off when button B is pressed.

Button C is the exact same thing, except it's "Fan Medium."

My problem is this: When I press the large bottom "Off" button on the KeypadLinc it will turn off the stand-alone light, and it will also turn off the LED of buttons B and C (but it will leave the fan on to whatever setting it was).

I look at the "Front Door Switch" in the ISY, and it isn't listed as a controller for anything.

And because a video is worth at least 33 words.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ng0em1q0cv25 ... .16.36.mp4

Thank you!

B

If the main button is not shown as controller of anything, and is not a part of some program as a condition, then the likeliest cause in my mind (short of device failure or some sort of communication gremlin) is that there are links in this keypad unknown to the ISY. Right click on the device, and choose "show device links". Then choose "compare". Does it show any mismatces?

If so, you may want to perform a factory reset on the keypad and restore it from the ISY.

There is an additional possibility, albeit unlikely. Perhaps there was an X-10 address somehow assigned to both buttons. A factory reset and restore would take care of this, also.

I was hoping the compare device links would reveal a problem. Too bad. I hope this is not a failed device.

Factory reset and restore device worked. Thanks guys.

Full solution here, for anyone who finds this thread via search later:

  • [*:1zs93xkt] Pull out the set button on the bottom of the KeypadLinc. Use a small flat head screwdriver. Be careful, but it does take a little more force than I expected. It pulls out approximately 1/8" "snaps" into position, and will hold that position. This creates an "Air Gap."
[*:1zs93xkt] Wait at least ten seconds
[*:1zs93xkt] Press the set button back in and hold it down
[*:1zs93xkt] KeypadLinc will start to do a loud buzz, keep holding until the buzz stops
[*:1zs93xkt] KeypadLinc will beep, reset to factory, and the attached load will turn on

  • [*:1zs93xkt] In ISY Admin, right click on the KeypadLinc device and select "Restore Device"

These steps worked for:

  • [*:1zs93xkt] (2334-2) KeypadLinc Dimmer 5 Buttons v.43
    [*:1zs93xkt] ISY Admin v.4.2.4
