Can't backup or upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just installed and configured my ISY Pro, and when I attempted to do a backup, I get the following message:

Could Not Retrieve the Configuration File /CONF/30.PRP

I also attempted to do an upgdate (without a backup) to the latest release; and I was told the upgrade was refused.

Can someone assist me in correcting this?

Hi Bob,

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. If you have a firewall software, then in all likelihood that's why you are experiencing these issues. Please take a look at http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=3 where you will find resolutions to most firewall issues.

Please let me know how this works out.

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

I have tried this on two computers; one with XP and Firewall tuned off and one with Vista again with Firewall turned off. I also deleted the java cache just to be sure.

So two issues:

1. Can not backup due to /CONF/30.PRP; how can I correct this?

2. Can not upgrade from 2.6.5 to 2.6.7; I get this message:"Upgrade Failed: ISY Refused Program Update" What us causing this? Could this be the same file that is causing my backup issues?

Downloaded latest java; deleted cache (ie and java) and still get error for not being able to retrieve config for 30.prp file. Also have behind this error "Cound not create the zip file".

Also tried to upgrade and it is still failing.

Hello Bob,

Would you be kind enough to enable Internet access and send me your URL? I can try and upgrade/backup remotely and see where the problem is. We have also had issues with some switches (Linksys especially); do you have a switch between your ISY and your router? If so, please try connecting ISY directly to your router and let me know if the problem is resolved.

As far as the backup problem, please

1. Telnet to your ISY ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... o_Your_ISY )

2. Login using your credentials

3. Issue RF /CONF/30.PRP (this is a properties file which was not saved correctly)

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

After removing the file 30.prp; ISY allowed my to get a backup and perform the upgrade. Thanks for all the assistance.

Bob,

My pleasure! Thanks for your patience ... I am a little worried since .prp should have nothing to do with upgrading (different file locations/directories). I am going to see if there's a bug and, if you don't mind, please keep an eye on this situation and let me know if there are any anomalies. For instance, please let me know if you are able to successfully save your programs.

With kind regards,

Michel

OK, will do. I have been creating and deleting programs all afternoon and have had no problems so far.
