Quietminded Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Im very new to the ISY and loving it ! My question is in regards a Aeon Labs z-wave energy monitor I picked up on discount. I had no trouble pairing and it shows current power. So my first question is there a way to update the "current power" without querying the device? And second and most importantly , is there a cheap way to collect data to as to view day, week and monthly usage, ideally broken down into times of day? I've read what i could find in the forums before bothering all of you, all i could figure out was that i would need to buy some sort of additional controller? Thanks bunches, Joe I have read (not confirmed) that once the 5.XX firmware branch has been released it may offer a work around for this. Basically a state variable would be able to be included into the network resource module. This same information could then (technically) send that information to a cloud hosted data aggregator like SEG. I am using SEG now as a back up energy resource in concert with my Dash Box (DB) and Green Eye Monitor (GEM). My goal is similar to yours but for pushing my 1 wire temperature / humidity sensor readings to SEG. All of this hinges on the release of firmware 5.XX and if it will allow network resources to include variables. Link to comment

You need to set a device parameter to tell the device to send the value after it changes by more than a certain %. There are other Aeon devices with energy monitor capabilities, and (at least he clamp meter) uses very different parameters for things. For instance, parameter 1 sets the input voltage for the wattage calculation. The Pepper1 site should detail what you need though. Michael. Link to comment

I don't care if it's not automated, but want to clear the totals each month when a new billing cycle starts. A factory reset was the only thing I could come up with, maybe someone else will be able to figure out a usable method and I'll keep on fiddling with it. Link to comment

I've only done this once so far and don't feel fully comfortable with my memory, but I believe it was a total reset and I needed to delete the unit from the ISY and re exclude/include to get it going again. This was at a time that I was doing a fair amount of other ZWave testing so I may be mixing memories here. If I get a chance this weekend, I will reset one of my less critical unites and confirm. -Xathros Link to comment
