junkycosmos Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Aeotec Door Window Sensor 2nd Edition DSB29-ZWUS: Anyone else using this? http://www.amazon.com/Aeon-Labs-Aeotec-Edition-DSB29-ZWUS/dp/B00DJALAIE I have had one in a box for a while and really like the small size, tamper switch and use of 2 standard AAA batts. Tonight I re-added to the ISY and it looks to have associated quickly. Status changes for the magnetic switch are quick and reliable so far. However there is no "node" or "indicator" for status of the tamper switch? ideas? thx!
junkycosmos Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 Checking in here. Anyone using these on their zwave ISY setups? Noted that the DSB29-ZWUS is the gen2 device while the original is DSB04100. Some searching on the models show that gen2 is supposed to have better batt life, upgradable firmware, range etc. They are about 2/3 the size of the insteon door/window sensors, they use 2 AAA batts. The magnet is 1/2 the size as Insteon sensor. So far on ISY (v4.3.3) the Aeotec Door Window Sensor 2nd Edition DSB29-ZWUS reports as 1 node that shows two items: ON/OFF for the magnet sensor and a Battery Level node. The unit does have a tamper switch on it that triggers when the unit is removed from the mounted surface however there is no node in the ISY to show Tamper Switch status. Here is a print of event viewer while tripping DSB29 tamper switch a few times Sun 07/26/2015 02:51:02 PM : [ZWAVE-RX ZW041_1] [010A000400290471]... Wondering if others have ventured into Open/Close Sensors by Zwave? thx J
Michel Kohanim Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hello junkycosmos, If the device reports the Alarm, then you will see a node for it. Have you configured it properly? With kind regards, Michel
stusviews Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 junkycosmos, According to the instructions, the tamper switch needs to be included separately from the sensor.
junkycosmos Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Ah ha! I bet that explains it why the tamper switch node is not showing on the ISY as I did not take any action to specifically include it. The unit does have a main zwave button that excludes and includes the main node (for mag switch) and batt level. Anyone have specific directions on how to include the tamper switch. Also would be nice if anyone has the parms for the unit. The quick direction sheet that came with it does not include the parms but does note by default the unit does not wake up to check in but can be set too. Also does not mention full tamper switch inclusion instruction. thx J
junkycosmos Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 ok no dice. tried the enrollment method listed in the online directions here of clicking tamper switch 3x. This method does not appear to enroll or de-enroll the device. Noted that the online direcitons here also show a different battery vs the unit I have which takes 2x AAA batts. My directions note to enroll / de-enroll use the zwave button. They also note that 3x press of the tamper switch is done to wake up the unit for 10mins. When I do this indeed the red light comes on for 10mins. Tried a few zwave enroll / de-enrollment while clicking tamper switch, all re-added to ISY quick but every time it ads back to ISY without any tamper node. thanks for any ideas J
