smokegrub Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I am trying to complete Network Settings so I can stop using the NTP Server. I have all the information except the Http Port Number and the Https Number. I am using a Mac with an Airport Extreme router. Can anyone tell me where to find these port numbers?

Michel Kohanim Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hi smokegrub, I am not sure I understand what http/https port settings have to do with not using NTP server (which uses UDP). Can you elaborate please? With kind regards, Michel
builderb Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Http traffic is typically handled over port 80, and https over port 443. I'm curious how this relates to NTP as well. Edit: FYI, some ISPs block those ports so you don't run a home web server. There are ways around this, of course. Edited February 12, 2015 by builderb
smokegrub Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 My question was improperly phrased, reflecting my networking naivete. I will do some more research to better try to frame what I am trying to do. Thanks.
