How to "turn off" fast off and fast on with a dimmer switch

I want to use an insteon dimmer switch 2477D to turn on/off a 2635-222 module.

I made up an ISY program so that a double tap on the 2477D turns on or off the 2635.  Works great, However the double tap also turns the light that the dimmer switch controls on and off.

Is there a way to have the switch not effect the light it is directly controlling with the double taps yet turn the controlling light with a single tap?

Hope this makes sense.  thanks

No. The local paddle always controls the load connected to it. Along with sending Insteon messages to devices linked to it.

I believe the double tap will turn it 100% On, even if you have a local On level set. While a single tap would turn it On at the Local level it is set to.

The only way I see to accomplish this would be to move the control of your load off of the dimmer and onto a micro module.  Then use programs to monitor the dimmers various control messages and do whatever you want from there.

For the local lamp the dimmer can be set to a slow ramp and ISY programs/scenes can override the ramp with it's own brightness and faster ramp setting for the bulb.

Double Tap produces an immediate full on/off so the double brightness change becomes obvious and annoying so cannot use this technique.

Rather than a micro module I would replace the switch with a Kpl.

Double-tapping the button on a KPL sends a fast on if the button is off and a fast off if the button is on

I think EricK's point was that a KPL offers additional buttons for additional functions.
