Panda88 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Hi I have a danalock that I am trying to pair - it pairs fine, but it appears to show up as a GPIO device (not a secure device). I can check battery and force lock/unlock. No way to get a status etc. Is there a way to force a different type of device during pair. The lock is certified Zwave+ Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks
Mike Ippolito Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Panda88, Can you please fill out this form so we can look into it? https://www.universal-devices.com/device-support/ Please also remember that secure devices must be paired within 10 feet of the ISY for best results. Gen5 devices do support network wide inclusion, however all devices in the communication path must be compatible.
lilyoyo1 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I tested this lock and was greatly disappointed. You have to set the parameters up for it. Right click on the lock and you will see where to do this at. With that said it did not always work. Mike, I can send you mine if you want to be able to test it. Maybe having a lock (if you can get your hands on the api) will allow ya'll to officially support it. Let me know. http://www.danalock.com/media/2895/Userguide-Bluetooth-Smart-and-Z-Wave.pdf

I ask because I read your other thread about this lock and was hoping for a follow up. Can you update the original thread with your thoughts of the issues and weak links for this product? lilyoyo1 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Ive tested a few different locks (yale is my personal favorite) and the danalock was simply erratic. Sometimes I would get status and sometimes I wouldnt. Depending on how the door was unlocked (bluetooth) it wouldn't know. While I prefer combination locks on the external doors (just in case I run out without keys), it was my hope to use this lock on the door to the garage (more likely to have my phone when getting out of the car) and auto unlock. Bluetooth features work very well. The Zwave portion needs work. There seems to be no communication between bluetooth/zwave. Hopefully a future firmware will address this

This is why I am sitting on the side lines until lots of this gets shaking out among the lock vendors. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
