GGITech Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I was adding two swtiches and noticed that there were two mysterious sensors that I did not add. Energy Meter - Constantly showing 39.00 watts current power Multi Sensor - Shows nothing today, but was showing a Temp which was +/- 1.1 degrees different than any of my other two sensors. I have two AeoTec 4-n-1's online now. The Energy Meter, when display options, shows exactly what one of the 4-n-1 shows. (attached is the screen shot) Multi Sensor shows nothing now. Energy Meter = ZW006_143 Multi Sensor = ZW014_118 Not sure if that tells me anything, besides the order they were installed. The other two 4-n-1's are reporting the data that they should report.... Any way to figure out what these are? Troubleshoot what they are tied to? I could delete a 4-n-1 but then I'd have to fix all my events and programs related to that sensor.... I think it is related to the "Guest Bath" 4-n-1 but for the life of me can't figure why the Energy Meeter popped up.... Strangely enough, the Bath 4n1 shows "general purpose" of 0.00, and the "hall" does not. Same sensors, bought at same time, same firmware loaded. Any ideas would be appreciated.
paulbates Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 For the energy meter, any chance you have a neighbor with zwave devices?
Mike Ippolito Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Please post the results of the log when you right click on those two devices and select zwave show all in log. Sorry for brevity - posted using mobile Tapatalk
GGITech Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Mikeuid: I will do that ASAP. Neighbors? Yeah, maybe, but doubtful that they pushed their device to pair it at the same time I told ISY to add new device....I could run the stasticts on that, but the outside chance is close to me having sex with a Super Model.....
GGITech Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Hmmm....Ok, now I have a new device again "ZW 006 Pulse Meter" Never even heard of that.... ZW 006 Pulse Meter = "Pulse Count" 118095876 Also the Guest Bath 4-n-1 now shows "Wind Direction" = 2686976.00Degrees Wow....I think it is just maybe a funky AeoTech???? Post logs in a few.

Michel Kohanim Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hi GGITech, Those nodes are created when the multi-sensor sends an alarm for that given event (i.e. pulse meter). With kind regards, Michel
Harvvm Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I have been experiencing this same issue lately. I now have 14 of these device on my ISY. It only happens to Zwave device and show up days even weeks after the original device was added. All show as energy meters or multilevel sensors with the exception of one water meter. Some show empty windows while others show distance, velocity, volume or watts. None of which are related to what the original decive should be reporting. The only way to get rid of them is to readd the device but they return a few days later.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hello Harvvm, Z-Wave devices a) describe the types of alarms they send ISY makes a node for those events and c) when the event comes, ISY updates the status. The issue here is that some devices send alarms without describing it initially (during inclusion). So, ISY simply adds a nodes presuming that this alarms is a valid event and so that you can decide to remove it on your own. This is the root cause for any phantom nodes. With kind regards, Michel
MWareman Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I have a couple of devices that seem prone to report phantom nodes. It sure would be nice if there was a config parameter on ISY to effectively prevent the auto-creation and throw away these spurious events.... Or, change the logic so that they are suppressed until some threshold, or prompt the user for confirmation before adding (specifically suppressing future events if the user says 'no'). It just gets a little old having to keep deleting the 'Water Sensor' that keeps showing up against my Aeotec smart switch. 5.x feature? ☺
Michel Kohanim Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Hi MWareman, Can you please let me know what's the model number for the switch? With kind regards,Michel
MWareman Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Michel, It's this one: http://www.amazon.com/Aeon-Labs-DSC06106-ZWUS-Z-Wave-Energy/dp/B007UZH7B8 I have two, plugged into the same outlet. They have identical parameters and one connected to my washer and one to my dryer. Only one of them seems to periodically report a spurious node. Thanks! Michael.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hi Michael, Thank you. Does this report Water Sensor node? I have one of these at the office and have never seen a spurious node (yet). Once I know exactly what node type it is, I will contact AeoTec and see whether or not they can help us. And, we will look into adding a feature to ignore some alarms. With kind regards, Michel
MWareman Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Michel, Of course if has happened for a few days. Once it does I'll let you know. I should reinforce - I have two of them right next to each other. Only one of them does this. Michael.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Hi Michael, Got it. Thank you. With kind regards, Michel
whywork Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hi, I'd also like to vote for a way to easily remove phantom nodes; while not ISy's fault, they sure are a nuisance. I too, get repeated phantom nodes from BOTH an Aeotec Aeon Labs AEDSB09104ZWUS Aeotec Z-Wave Smart Energy Monitor, and the older Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Multi-Sensor (not the new six sensor). Either one randomly grows a water sensor. Without "pruning" of these phantom devices, they show up in mobilinc, and generally clutter and distract - and they report nonsense values that change over time. I hope you might implement something like MWareman's suggestion. Even if ISY is just reporting what the sensor sends, a workaround to suppress these bogus messages/nodes would be helpful. Thanks for the great ISY products and great ISY support.
Michel Kohanim Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Hi whywork, Thanks for the feedback and duly noted. With kind regards, Michel
EPalisoc Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 I also get phantom sensors (ZW 004) energy and pulse meters, after I installed an Aeotech 6-1 multisensory (new model). It has the latest firmware as well (1.07)
Michel Kohanim Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Hi all, This is solved in 5.0.9 (still alpha). With kind regards, Michel
grahamk Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Fixing this issue is enough to make me give 5.0.9 a whirl. Upgrading from 5.0.2. Wish me luck. Thanks for the fix!!!
