Issues using Mac OSX Yosemite

Hi all, I think this has been discussed a couple times here, but I can't find a solution to my problem.

I installed the ISY admin console on both my MacBook Pro and Mac-mini. On both of them, the ISY Finder doesn't find my ISY. I have to add it manually to connect to it. Once I'm in the admin console, I change the theme. From this point everything will be fine, the finder will remember my ISY and the theme will remain, UNTIL I reboot. After that, I have to tell the finder again where my ISY is and change the theme again.

Anybody else has these annoying issues? Is this a bug with the admin console, or there is something I can do to fix this once and for all?

Thank you in advance.

what worked for me when I had the issue(stopped for some reason possibly a update). I open airport utility and let it load after it loads and you can see your connection and you're connected to the internet open admin console.

Not sure why your finder is not seeing the ISY.  Possibly UPnP disabled in the ISY network config?

As for the theme, window position and size being lost, that is life with Java on the MAC.  Same here from Mavericks on up.

Well, I enabled UPnP but still the same. So there is nothing to do with these problems? That's a bit sad. I switched to Mac recently and all this was working fine when I was using Windows.

Can somebody from universal devices look at this please?

Thank you

It's a long shot, I had problems in the past with those type of "discoveries", my solution was to enable multicast/broadcast traffic in my router.

Thank you for your answer Michel, unfortunately, it does not solve my Isy finder issue.

##
# Host Database

# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
##
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 MacBookPro.home
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1             localhost

What about the theme issue? Is there anything I can do about it or is it life with Java on a Mac as Xathros said?

Thanks

I may be helpful to cautious Mac/Yosemite/ISY users such as myself to know how this was resolved.

Same here.  I've been living with lost preferences at reboot for quite some time now.  If there is a solution I too would like to know about it.

I have exactly The same environment without those issues. I'd strongly suggest to see if it's related to the way ISY broadcasts it's presence and if it's replicated or even accepted by the router.

Are you referring to the ISY not being seen by the Finder?  If so, that is one issue I don't have.  Both at home and the office, my ISY's show up just fine in the ISY Finder.

Now the inability of the admin console to remember the theme settings and window positions is another story...

Glad to know I am not alone in this situation. I submitted a ticket for both issues as Michel suggested. Really looking forward for feedback on this.

Thanks everyone for your input!

Hello everyone,

The position requires Java cache to be enabled. Also another cause for this issue is related to security prompt not having been accepted. Resetting Java security settings usually fixes this issue.

Kaphely,

Haven't you been contacted yet?

With kind regards,

Michel

Yes I have been contacted. I am dealing with Steve via email.

Would you please explain how to enable the Java cache on Mac OSX because I looked everywhere and couldn't find how.

Thanks

Sorry, I was out and only today I could check the themes...

It doesn't survive to a boot. Probably is the same as all others, without a reboot it saves the windows and themes.

Michel Kohanim has contacted me asking for different things to test and he will look into why the themes do not survive a reboot.

Again, cannot say enough that UDI's support is awesome!

Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I can reproduce it here. The problem seems to be that Java temp files are deleted and there seems to be no way to change the directory to which they are saved. Still looking and will keep everyone informed.

With kind regards,

Michel
