barrygordon Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 A lot of Home Automation work is now being done in Javascript. It would make things much simpler if as part of the request to start a subscription to change events allowed one to specify the responses to be XML or JSON formatted. I know there are libraries to do the conversion from XML to JSON, but wouldn't it be nice if it was handled by the ISY? I know of one site wunderground which allows this when retrieving weather data. Kodi (XBMC) now accepts commands over its API as JSON and responds in the same format. The ISY using REST as its request protocol is excellent, but in today's world JSON is becoming more and more prevelant.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hi barrygordon, It's a very huge undertaking simply because of the sheer number of APIs and objects and all the things that could go wrong in the process of encoding/decoding one to the other. This said, we have this requirement in our list. With kind regards, Michel
