Grayson Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Hi, I just bought a 2441TH thermostat to replace my Honeywell one. However, after wiring it up I got hot air instead of cool for the cool setting. I also got hot air from the heat setting. So, my assumption is I wired something wrong. I know it is not my A/C unit since I hooked the Honeywell back up and everything works. Here is the wiring for the Honeywell Here is what I did with the wiring.... Right Side of Honeywell 2441TH ------------------------------------------------------------ Red Wire 24RH Orange W2 (1st attempt I had this connected to W1, then when I connected the white wire I moved it to W2 - same result) Yellow Y1 Green G Blue 24V COM Left side of Honeywell 2411TH Top White wire W1 (I didn't connect this on the 1st attempt, then connected it and still same result) Red Not connected White Not connected I think the bottom white and red wires on the left side are for the outside temp reading since they are a separate wire run. Any suggestions on the wiring....? Thanks! Edited June 4, 2015 by Grayson
paulbates Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Can you post the pick for the insteon wiring , or indicate which wire color you attached to which terminal of the Insteon Thermostat? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
paulbates Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Also describe your system, Is it a gas 2 stage heater? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Grayson Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 I don't have a pic for the Insteon one since I removed it put the the Honeywell back. I tried to show the wiring above. Is the below clearer? Right Side of Honeywell Connected to 2441TH ------------------------------------------------------------ Red Wire ----------------------> 24RH Orange ----------------------> W2 (1st attempt I had this connected to W1, then when I connected the white wire I moved it to W2 - same result) Yellow ---------------------> Y1 Green ---------------------> G Blue ----------------------> 24V COM Left side of Honeywell 2411TH Top White wire ----------------------> W1 (I didn't connect this on the 1st attempt, then connected it and still same result) Red Not connected White Not connected Not sure what you mean by gas 2 stage heater? How would I determine that? Thanks!
Techman Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) You should also take a look at the furnace to see what terminals the wires are connected to Is your air conditioning a single stage or two stage compressor? Does the furnace have a two stage gas valve? Do you have an external temperature sensor that was connected to the Honeywell? Edited June 4, 2015 by Techman
Grayson Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Arghh......I think I have a heat pump system. Any there any solutions for the ISY that work with a heat pump system?
stusviews Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) There are Insteon compatible Venstar thetmostats, actually Insteon adapters for some Venstar thermostats. They're available at the SH store. I have two, no longer in use, if you're interested. Edit: T1800 + adapter Edited June 5, 2015 by stusviews
Brian H Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Older thread. There is now a Heat Pump version of the Insteon Thermostat. http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2732-242-thermostat-for-heat-pump.html
larryllix Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 The Venstar T7800-7900 series have heat pump modes to provide switch over contacts. They can be interfaced via RPi using NodeLink .
