Leal Sensor Question

Featured Replies

Posted

I just installed 2 leak sensors in different implementations of ISY, the second one I installed is in the home I live in and the question I have is about the heartbeat.  Should it be "On"?  My leak sensor at the other place shows "ON" but the leak sensor where I live shows "Off".  Can someone help me understand what I am missing?

Thanks,

bdw72

Hi bdw72,

It should be ON and stay ON when ISY hears the first heartbeat. If it's off and your ISY has been on for more than 24 hours, then this sensor is either not sending heartbeat or there's signal issue.

With kind regards,

Michel

I have done a factory reset on it and it still shows off, I will return it.  Thanks Michel!!

Doing a Factory Reset is fine but now you need to wait 24+ hours to see if the Heartbeat message is sent. It is sent once every 24 hours (approx).

Pressing the set button should also send a heart beat update about 1-2 minutes afterwards. This is unless the latest firmware has interrupted this behavior.

For the benefit of others please state the hardware, production date which is on the device (inside) and the ISY firmware.

Some Leak sensors send On and then Off alternatively for a heartbeat while apparently some newer units only repeatedly send On.

If you check the status of an older unit it could be in any state and quite normal.
