simonsez Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Hi, I just had an odd problem today and I'm wondering if my issue stems from my Isy or the PLM. I had a non working Insteon motion sensor and I figured it was the battery. So I took the sensor down and found the led was lighting up when I pressed the button under the battery cover. So next, while observing it's on/off status in the console I pressed the button a few times. Nothing happened, and the status did not change from on to off. The device continued to show ON despite repeated clicks of the button. Then I tried to look at the options for the motion sensor and the Isy console just froze. I tried to get back to the console but the web interface didn't seem to even respond any more. I finally had to unplug my PLM an EZIOCOMM model that provides power and data to the ISY over a single cable and plug it back in. Once that was done everything returned to normal. I am running 4.2.30 currently. I know this is not much to go on. However I wondered if this was indicative of a PLM going bad? If so I'll just bite the bullet and replace the one I have. I haven't really documented the number of times but it seems every few weeks its needs a hard reset by pulling the power to get it going again. Cheers, Simon
Razemania Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I am having this same problem. I've been power cycling the ISY and not the PLM - I didn't think about the PLM. Brian
stusviews Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 simonsez, remove power from both the ISY and PLM. Power up the PLM first, wait a few seconds and then power up the ISY.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi Simon, EZIOCOMM is not officially supported but I do not think the issue is related to the PLM (unless it lost power). You are welcome to send your Tools | Error Log and we'll take a look. Hi Brian, What's your ISY's firmware version and model number? Brian H Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 The EZIOCOMM is built on the same base PLM assembly. With their own daughter board. If it is new enough to have the base 2413 PLM main board. It is probably subject to the same poor power supply caps we see in out 2413S PLMs.

With kind regards, Michel Hi Michel, I have sent over my error as an attachment to support@universal-devices.com log for your review. It's odd that you mention that this is not supported as I'm pretty sure I purchased this alongside my Isy as a bundle from Aartech. Would it be a good idea for me to swap it with a 2142 or 2143s? Tanks, Simon
simonsez Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Over the weekend I replaced my PLM with a new 2413S. It's only been a few days so I can't address if it solves my issue just yet, but I will say the whole network feels snappier. While that might be anecdotal, certainly the wireless devices in range of the dual band plm are much more responsive now which is a nice plus. I'll see in the coming weeks how this fares. Thanks for all the help. Simon
Michel Kohanim Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Hi Simon, Thanks so very much for the update. With kind regards, Michel
