2440 wireless remote battery life

Featured Replies

I have a 2440 wireless remote that seems to go through batteries faster than I think it should. It will use a set of batteries typically in 2-3 weeks. I'm using alkaline Energizers or Duracells, both brands last about the same time.

Its by my bed and typically is just used once a day to shut off the bedroom lights. It will work fine, then one night its just dead, no light or anything. Battery tester may show just one battery is dead or more often all them are dead.

I would expect them to last for months, anyone else having this problem?

Good thing I buy my batteries wholesale from work!

I've seen this before, and in all cases I'm aware of the remote was replaced under warranty. They should last much longer than 2-3 weeks - the RemoteLinc near my bad has had the same set of batteries for months.

I have two in use and they do not eat batteries like yours does.

I would also say call Smarthome as I have also seen messages on short battery life.
