Fibaro Motion Sensor Compatibility

Featured Replies

Posted

I purchased my ISY a few months ago and am still pretty green.  Currently my network consists of a couple of dimmers and a Schlage lock.

I'd like to get a multi-sensor to monitor the temperatures at night in my son's room and was drawn to the Fibaro product.  Is this product compatible with the z-wave ISY?

The Fibaro has 4 functions - temperature, motion, light, and acceleration.  I'd probably only be interested in using the first 3 for this project.  If anyone can confirm or deny that the ISY can read these functions, that'd be appreciated.  Or if there's a way I can verify device compatibility on my own (short of buying and trying), I'm all ears.

Additionally, if there's a better sensor (Aeon Labs?) or solution out there, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I don't have the Fibaro motion sensor and am interested in hearing how this is working with ISY.

But I do have a Fibaro door/window sensor and am having some problems. Hopefully the Fibaro motion sensor is a newer design and works better than the door sensor. The problem I'm currently investigating is that it never wakes up so Heal Z-Wave Network and Repair Links never have a chance to run on the sensor. Apparently it's going to wake up about 6 months from now if the following installation log entries are correct:

Wed 10/21/2015 09:33:21 AM : Device 23 of type 4.32.1 included into Z-Wave network

Wed 10/21/2015 09:33:21 AM : Adding ISY node(s) for new Z-Wave device 23 type 4.32.1

Anyway, two Z-Wave temperature/humidity devices I have and would recommend are:

1. Aeotec Multisensor 6 ZW100-A: motion, temperature, humidity, light, UV, vibration. Only limitation to be aware for you is when it's battery-powered temperature/humidity will be reported once per hour - if USB-powered it can report as often as you want.

2. Everspring ST814 Temperature/Humidity Sensor. Doesn't have motion and light and is larger than the Aeotec Multisensor 6 but will report temperature and humidity as often as you want on battery power.
