Blackbird
I have been having problems with mobilinc not working properly. The on off icons don't work most of the time and I have to turn the lights on and off with the slide bar. Also I have come home a couple times to find all the lights on in my house. When I open mobilinc to turn off the lights, it doesn't register the on off status correctly so I hit the refresh button and I then get a pushover notification that my garage door is closed. Any ideas? thanks
larryllix
Have you refreshed your complete database with ISY lately? You mentioned a refresh button. Is that the one you refer to?
Blackbird
no the refresh button on mobilinc. I will try the isy
Blackbird
do you mean query?
larryllix
No. I mean the "Synchronise" button in MobiLinc. when you make changes to ISY programs and variables MobiLinc can get confused by the change of locations.
Blackbird
ok when I hit the mobilinc light on button, the light does not come on but the isy and mobilinc say its ON
Blackbird
if its the two arrows in a circle, icon, on the top right of mobilinc then yes I did push that and the light still wont turn on, even though ISY and mobilinc say its on. The slider will turn it on just not the light button

oberkc
If the ISY and mobilinc both say that it is on, have you considered the possibility that it is not a mobilinc problem? Based on your symptoms, my guess would be communication problem between ISY and light.
InsteonNut
Hi Blackbird, I already responded to your email request, but duplicated here for others to read: Please open the Admin Console and verify that you can see real time status of all your devices. IE leave Admin Console running and go to each device in the house and physically turn it on or off and verify that the Admin Console sees the updated status. If not, then one of two things is happening: 1. If you replaced your PLM, you need to “Restore your PLM” from the Admin Console->File menu. 2. If you’ve never replaced your PLM, then there are significant communication issues in the home preventing the device signals from updating the PLM/ISY with current status. You may need additional dual-band devices in the home or look at adding in FilterLinc to filter out noise on your power lines. Wes
Blackbird
Nothing has been replaced and I beleive this to be a mobilinc issue as everything has worked fine in the past and beleive it started after a mobilinc upgrade. The isy and switches and remotes all turn the lights on and off with no problem. Its only when I click the on off icon on mobilinc that it will not turn on the light but the isy says it's on. The slider on mobilinc works fine.
oberkc
I respectfully disagree. If the isy believes a device to be on when, in fact, it is not, I would treat this as a comms issue. Mobilinc appears to be communicating with isy in your case. I suggest reconsidering the suggestions of wes.
Blackbird
It's only a comm problem between the isy and mobilinc. As I said without using mobilinc I have no issues. All remotes and switches work fine also turning devices on directly through the isy is also fine. Is it possible mobilinc is sending a signal to tell the isy that the light is on when it isn't? Blackbird
Everything worked dine before I updated mobilinc. Having said that before mobilelink had problems with the buttons not always responding. I had to tap the button a couple times to turn on the light. My friend had that same problem
Teken
Blackbird, Can you indeed confirm that (IF) you press any device in the home that its status is accurately reflected in the ISY Admin Console? Also if you select a device from the Admin Console does it change state and reflect that state as intended as On-Off? This is the primary question that others have posed . . . Blackbird
Blackbird, Can you indeed confirm that (IF) you press any device in the home that its status is accurately reflected in the ISY Admin Console? Also if you select a device from the Admin Console does it change state and reflect that state as intended as On-Off? This is the primary question that others have posed . . . I can confirm that if I use any of these to turn lights on and off that the lights behave normal and the ISY and Mobilinc, reflect the correct status mini remote, the light switch, the motion sensor, the on off button in the ISY console the slide bar on the of the android mobilinc app and recently discovered that if I click on the details of the device in mobilink, there is an on off button and slider that all work I can confirm that the following does not turn on or off the lights but does match the on/off status of the ISY The light bulb or switch icon in the mobilinc app I didn't understand the (IF) in brackets
oberkc
I can confirm that the following does not turn on or off the lights but does match the on/off status of the ISY The light bulb or switch icon in the mobilinc app The fact that the ISY responded to mobilinc (showing same status as mobilinc) makes me think it is another problem. I perceive this as a comms problem specifically between (from) the ISY to the device in question. Are you having trouble controlling any other device or scene from mobilinc? From the ISY admin panel, attempt to control the same device (or scene) you are having trouble with from mobilinc. Does the device fail to respond and the ISY status mismatch? For clarification, what is the device or devices you are trying to control? Is it a scene or a device? What do the light bulb and switch icons represent? InsteonNut
Blackbird, Please be aware that tapping the icon of a device will actually control the scene that the device is a controller of. So, please look at your scenes and the scene definition in the ISY. If the device is a scene controller, then the scene will receive the ON or OFF command (depends on the the status of the device). If the details of the device and tapping ON or OFF here works then it's almost certainly a scene definition issue. Wes
Blackbird
ok I have some new info that might help you guys figure out my problem. These are the devices that work fine with mobilinc, ISY, and the switches Dining room light (Dimmer switch) Parking stall lights (Dimmer Switch) Garage Lights (Dimmer Switch) Outside lights (8 button keypad) Deck lights (8 button keypad controlling outdoor on off plug) Gazebo lights (8 button keypad controlling outdoor on off plug) Wall outlet top Wall outlet bottom These are the devices that do not work by tapping the icon on Mobilinc Kitchen light (dimmer switch) Living room above tv light (dimmer switch) Living room above chair Light(dimmer switch) Living room main Light (dimmer switch) Bathroom Light (dimmer Switch) Porch Light (Dimmer Switch) Now this is where it gets interesting. The bedroom light (dimmer switch) works by tapping the mobilinc button BUT it also turns on and off, all the lights that DONT WORK with the mobilinc button but will not turn on the lights that DO WORK with the mobilinc button! I hope this info helps you help me
Blackbird
Also I realized on my 8 button remote, I keep in the bedroom, I have a button that turns all the lights on and another that turns them all off. When I say all, I mean only the ones that are not working properly with mobilinc Kitchen light (dimmer switch) Living room above tv light (dimmer switch) Living room above chair Light(dimmer switch) Living room main Light (dimmer switch) Bathroom Light (dimmer Switch) Porch Light (Dimmer Switch) I disabled that remote but it didn't fix the problem I also deleted the All On All Off Scene that the remote was controlling and same problem. Also forgot to add that I uninstalled mobilinc and reinstalled but no change
