trocks797 Posted November 21, 2015 Share Posted November 21, 2015 Hey all! Of course, my PLM bit the dust at 37 months, so I ordered a new one. I installed the new one but I have run into some major problems. I followed the instructions on installing the new PLM. But when I go to click restore PLM, it starts and then about 7 second later I get this: I attempted to restore my ISY with the backup I made prior to the last PLM failing but it did not work. As it is right now, when I first launch the Admin Console, it spends about 3 minutes with the "Please wait/do not make changes...." box as it slowly fills in the current status of each device on the network. I never remember waiting that long when I load up the Admin Console before, but prior to the PLM failing, I rarely was using Admin Console, as the network was running great. Anyway. Direct on/off and dim/brighten commands from the Admin Console work. Scenes do not work. If I test a scene, it fails. Programs also do not work. So basically, the only thing that is working is direct commands to an individual unit from the Admin Console. Nothing else works (either from the Admin Console or scenes/programs from a Keypadlinc, for example). Is there someone who can point me in the right direction to get things back working again? Do any of your devices show ! or 1101? I did not. The PLM failed and my Admin Console just kept saying Safe Mode until I plugged the new one in. It may be worth noting that I did attempt to Delete PLM today after having no luck with the Restore PLM, but I received the same error as above. I plugged the new PLM in first, powered it up, and then plugged the ISY in probably 15 seconds later. The only devices that show ! are ones that are without power (and have been prior to the PLM failing). I am not sure how to tell about 1101. I appreciate your help stusviews! Link to comment

It's possible that your attempt at Delete Modem may have made things more difficult, but it's good that your device are recognized. Did you try Restore Devices. I usually do Restore Devices twice or more if I get only some restoration, but not all. Link to comment

I just can't seem to figure out that error code. Thank you! The 1101 is as obvious as is !, so if you don't see 1101, then that's not a problem. I usually do Restore Devices twice or more if I get only some restoration, but not all. Thank you. I did try restore devices. That took about 45 minutes to complete. Direct commands work, but programs and scenes still do not. Since posting, I have also noticed the Admin Console is not updating automatically when I locally adjust a device. For example. If I use my ControLinc to turn off the bedside light, this not reflected on the Admin Console until I query the bedside light. So as I look at a Scene in the Admin Console, it is currently showing all included devices as Off, when various lights are on at various levels. You could always fix your old plm per the instructions on the forum. I did see that, but I am not familiar with tweaking/replacing internals. If all else fails, I will give it a go. Thank you! If I need to do a factory reset and start back from square one, I will, but just thought this may have been experienced by someone else before. Thank you for all the help so far! Link to comment

All seemed well until I set my Christmas program to Enable. It is simple... For simplicity I'll just quote. I have the front door light to go on from sunset to 10:30 PM. And in another program to be off from 10:30:05 to sunset -;05 the following day. That said, lets use the off program. During that ime before the PLM failure, I could go and turn the light on at the switch and the program would immediately turn it back off - just as it should. Now, the light will stay on. Interestingly, I can swith the light on from ISY UI and it will turn it immediately off as it should. I was able to remove the device from my system and restore the PLM. All seems to be well except for my scenes....I just noticed the bottom half of the screen is empty. I have none of the scene sliders for setting the on level of the devices... Any idea why this would be? Link to comment

aLf Posted November 23, 2015 Share Posted November 23, 2015 I think this is simple. As stated above. The program turns 4 items on during sunset to 10:30 PM. In the past if my wife happened to turn off one of the items locally, it would automatically turn back on. I can replicate it by turning an item off in ISY, and it will turn right back on. But if I locally turn it off at the switch, it stays off. Link to comment

On all of my newer backups, I get this error when I try to Restore ISY: I successfully loaded one from summer 2014 (which unfortunatley got rid of a lot of my newer scenes), but still no adjusting the scenes. Here is what I received when I ran a Show Device Links Table on a switch: The top device listed, 3B.94.48, is my new PLM. Also, just wanted to update: I have discovered that all the devices in the house do not interact with the new PLM at all (however, via the Admin Console, the PLM does successfully execute direct commands to the devices). For example...I have a ControLinc by the bed set to activate Sleep Program when Set 5 is switched OFF. Nothing happens when I press Set 5 OFF, but I can run the program successfully from the Admin Console (note: part of the program runs a scene, and while the scene portion does fail (which doesn't surprise me considering all my scenes are blank), the program does execute). I also noted the Event Viewer on Level 3 shows zero activity when I interact with switches or other Insteon devices on my network. This is so confusing, but I appreciate all the help so far! Controller link back to the new PLM. Without the Controller link the device cannot send back to the PLM a state change initiated by the device. Was a Delete Modem (PLM) issued.? If the Show ISY Links Table has the E2 link record a File | Restore Devices is needed.
