Deleted Insteon device failing to Link back in with ISY

Hi, so I recently installed a new insteon dimmer switch and I am having a strange issue.  The new dimmer switch seems to activate an insteon outlet switch I have had installed for years (and vice versa).  If I push on/off the dimmer it turns on/off the the power to the outlet.  Initially this happened every time.  I successfully added the new dimmer switch to my ISY network thinking this may fix the issue.  I was wrong.  It modified the behavier, as now the issue doesnt happen every time.  To make a very long story shorter, I wanted to delete the outlet switch from the ISY netowrk and re-link again.  However, now that I have deleted it fromt he ISY network, when i start the linking process on my ISY and then push/hold the button on the insteon switch I see a steady blinking on the device but it is not picked up by the ISY as usual.  How do I re-link the old device which was deleted from the ISY memory?  Also, anyone have a clue why these two insteon devices are not playing well together.  One last thing I should add, i am able to control each device properly through the ISY console, but when either of the insteon devices are operated at the respective device I see the issue previously mentioned.

thanks a lot in advance!

Your devices appear linked in some fashion.. I'd factory reset both, issue "restore device" on outletlinc and then attempt to re-link switchlinc.

thanks Jon, how do I "restore device" once I have deleted it from my ISY network?  I am not having problems trying to link the switchlinc back into my ISY network.  Any suggestions of why its not working or how to factory reset from the actual switchlinc device?

thanks!

now having problems, not "not" in the above post.  Sorry about that.

Try restarting the ISY.  That's probably a bug, since I didn't find it documented anywhere, but when I re-added a deleted device (after a device replacement), it failed time and time again, until I reluctantly tried the "Microsoft Windows" Universal Fix -- rebooted the ISY.

To factory reset devices it's best to refer to owners manual because this procedure can vary slightly depending on version.
