Happy New Year (almost)!  I am hoping someone can help me.  After upgrading to 4.3.26, my DNS resolution on the ISY 994i is no longer working.  NTP, email alerts, and now ISY Portal Module installation are all failing.  I have checked my DNS settings and they are fine.  All of my other computers on the same network can access DNS just fine.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello Mike,

 

Have you hard rebooted the 994 Series Controller? Often times after the firmware update the soft boot does not actually bring the system back on line.

 

Pull the plug on the controller and wait about 10 seconds than apply power to the device.

Hi Mike-

You mentioned that your DMS settings are correct... can you describe how your ISY network configuration is set up? DHCP? UPNP?

Hello Mike,

 

Is the 994 Series Controller using a static IP or DHCP? If static change it to DHCP and see what happens. Also, you will need to confirm if this is a Anti-Virus / Fire Wall issue.

 

Turn them all off and report back what the outcome is. Keeping in mind even if you turn off both software applications you really need to ensure they are white listed to ensure the 994 can reach the Internet.

 

Also, I would reboot the ISP modem then the router  . . .

I turned off DNS inspection on my firewall and rebooted it, and now my ISY is working again.  Thanks to you and Michel (who I traded some emails with)!
