TJF1960 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Hi io_guy, Any chance at some point you could allow naming Temp sensors and AI and digital inputs and variables on their respective pages? It would make remembering what the heck they are a lot easier. Thanks, Tim
io_guy Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Will do. I'm wondering if it would have been better to create all the IO and Temp points as separate nodes in the ISY. That way they could all be renamed in the ISY and NodeLink could pull that info into it's page for easy viewing.
larryllix Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 How about an assignment (checkbox) page, with user names, so select inputs could be assigned to one Node page in ISY and the rest ignored? Would require some automatic page reassembling in ISY, if that is possible.
TJF1960 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 Either way would work for me. Which ever way that would create the least amount of work for you would work for me. Thanks, Tim
inovermyhead Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 io_guy, I'll second the request for a rename ability in Nodelink. As you saw from my earlier question about scaling values in Nodelink, I am planning to use one or more of the WC8 analog inputs and being able to rename them to something more directly related to their function than just analog input 1, analog input 2, etc. would be most helpful. And as Tim said, however creates the least amount of work for you is fine. John
io_guy Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Already started on this. Each IO point will now be a separate node in the ISY, which can be renamed as you see fit. On startup, NodeLink will read the nodelist from the ISY so that the NodeLink config page displays the same friendly info. I'll work on being able to pick and choose which nodes to sync with the ISY but this may come later - a lot of framework needs to change to make that happen.
io_guy Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 Code is complete, I'll release the new version in a couple days, working on a couple unrelated items first.
