Module won´t install because of TCP client DNS error

Hi,

 

I bought the Isy portal module and can´t install it because I get a TCP client DNS eror.

 

Please help me fix this, as I can not install the module I just bought.

I have the same error and can't get the ISY to send email or download modules.  Same static IP since I set the unit up, and email has worked until recently.  Changed to DHCP and still have errors.  Can someone please help?

Hi drabenaldt,

 

If your router is TPLink or if you are using a custom router with DNSMASQ service as dhcp server, then you are going to have problems and, unfortunately, there are really no remedies on the ISY side to address these issues.

 

Is any of the above the case?

Just want to confirm that the DNS error was RESOLVED when I switched the ISY994 from static to dynamic IP address

using DHCP.  New modules installed right away, and I was then able to re-establish the static IP address, subnet, gateway and DNS

entries as before.  Moral of the story: Read the Wiki and check the forum sooner rather than later.
