Posted August 11, 20169 yr Hello, I recently purchased on of the new Monoprice Zwave door sensors. I was able to include it easily enough but all it shows is battery level. When I check the event viewer it is reporting 0 when the door closes and 255 when it opens. Is there any way that I can use this signal in a program to show whether the door is open or closed? If not is there another way that I can show this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Nate
August 11, 20169 yr Yes, you should be able to use this in a program but if you do not see it as option, try restarting the Admin Console. When you first add a battery operated alarm, the ISY determines some of the capabilities of the alarm when it first goes off rather than when you add the alarm. There is a bug where in some cases you have to restart the Admin Console to see the changes.
August 12, 20169 yr Author Thanks for the reply. I tried restarting the console but it still isn't working. I'll exclude and reinclude tonight to see if that resolves it.
August 14, 20169 yr Author I have excluded and re-included the device (as well as restarted the commmand console) and it is still not giving me anything that I can use in a program. Is there anything else that I can try? Thanks, Nate
August 15, 20169 yr I have excluded and re-included the device (as well as restarted the commmand console) and it is still not giving me anything that I can use in a program. Is there anything else that I can try? Thanks, Nate What version of the ISY firmware are you running? This may be one of the cases where we (incorrectly) ignore the report because we don't create a status value for it in the node. We hope to have a fix for it in the next build.
August 15, 20169 yr Author I am running 4.5.1. The interesting thing is that there is a tamper alert that tells you when the case that contains the sensor is open and this is working correctly but the sensor itself is not.
August 15, 20169 yr I am running 4.5.1. The interesting thing is that there is a tamper alert that tells you when the case that contains the sensor is open and this is working correctly but the sensor itself is not. Its possible that it is a newer sensor type not supported by the v4.5.1 firmware.
August 15, 20169 yr Author Its possible that it is a newer sensor type not supported by the v4.5.1 firmware.I am able to see the signal in the event viewer so it appears that the ISY is receiving a signal just not utilizing it. Would this support your statement? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk Yes, there are very few reasons we would ignore a message (one of which is its sending something new that we do not yet support).

October 26, 20168 yr Author No, based on the last response I assumed it wasn't supported yet but might be in a future update so I'm just waiting at this point. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

October 29, 20168 yr Is it this one? http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15270 I was just looking for something like this. Can't really use it if it doesn't work with the ISY though.

December 23, 20168 yr Alas, I have four of these and have the same issues. Has this issue been resolved or will it be resolved in the future?
December 24, 20168 yr Cosmetically, the Monoprice door sensor looks an awful lot like the Aeotec Door sensor, just self branded. If you agree you could consider the work around in this thread. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/20581-aeon-labs-recessed-door-sensor-work-around-507/ See if you can access the parameters noted.
February 19, 20178 yr Hello, I just wanted to see if there has been any movement on this. I have this same issue with the monoprice door/window sensor. It includes easily enough and I can see events in the event viewer, but only the battery level shows up for device otherwise. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15270 Am I just waiting for the next build before I see more functionality? I am running 4.5.4 Thanks
February 20, 20178 yr Hello Home Automator, Can you please make sure your UI is also at 4.5.4, right mouse click | Z-Wave | Show Information in Event Viewer | All, then copy/paste the contents and paste back. With kind regards, Michel

February 22, 20178 yr Thanks Home Automator, Base on this information, only battery and power level are supported. I am not sure what notification v4 is but doubt it will be the issue. With kind regards, Michel
March 13, 20178 yr Hi glacier991, Please see above. It seems that the device only supports battery and power levels. With kind regards, Michel
March 13, 20178 yr Ah, so the issue is a device issue. SO these are pretty useless, and no "fix" is gonna change that. Now I get it. Thanks, too bad, I liked these. <g> Thanks Chris
March 14, 20178 yr Hi Chris, I am not sure what the issue is but without proper command classes, ISY cannot display anything. With kind regards, Michel
