Multiple ISY users?

Many of my family members have smartphones.  Is there any way for me to give them different usernames and passwords, or at least to create a user who does not have admin privileges on the ISY and have them share it?

None in revision 4+. I don't know if revision 5 (Alpha only) does or will support multiple users with different privileges. BTW, others have asked for the same feature.

If this is important to you - may I humbly suggest you lend your voice under the *Feature Request* forum. This feature has been requested for years and perhaps 5.XX may finally offer it.

Ideally there should be multi login capability but having the ability to assign user rights & privileges is paramount. I envision the following in no specific order:

Read Only: Can only view specific tabs the admin assigns.

User: They can activate all Insteon devices but has no write privileges admin assigns.

Admin: Full user rights to perform all actions in the console.

Some have suggested a *Super Admin / Backup Admin* account for fail over in case of lock out etc. Regardless of the multi login and user rights I would like to see a separate log tracking access, logout, and areas of read / write. Any write changes need to be appended to a locked file which is password protected.

There are multiple ISY users on this forum.

However I do understand that you are asking for multiple user accounts on the ISY. That is coming but we don't yet know to what extent.

I apologize for this not being a 1000 word rant but I have a wife.

The Admin Console has always been intended as a maintenance port and not really for various users to operate devices from.

Multiple levels of access would make more sense from the mobile apps available, and/or rest interface.

That is something I outlined in Agave and I hope James will consider adding. This is almost necessary if using anonymous tablets in a room.
