Scottmichaelj Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I have a client who contacted me who has a ISY 99ir with 3.10 Firmware with GUI version 4.2.18 - The status for a device is not updating when an ON/OFF command is sent from the ISY. The on/off and query commands from the ISY to the devices are working and the communication seems to be fine. All devices when turned on/off manually at the device/switch do update the ISY status, including the motion sensor dusk dawn is node status. I logged into the system and was able to turn on and off their "Front Patio" light multiple times without any problems but the status will not refresh in the ISY. When you query it it will update fine. Below is a quick log, I turned the device on, confirmed it was on, the ISY status still showed off. I did a query then the status updated in the ISY to ON. I did the same for off. Sent the off command via the ISY, device turned off, ISY Admin console didnt update status, query the device and it then updated. I restored the device and still no change. Think I should downgrade the ISY GUI? It been so long since I worked on this system and ISY 99ir. None of the devices are Dual Band, this is one of my first installs way back in the day and they never had any issues besides a PLM replacement. They do not want to upgrade to a 994ir and honestly the ISY is a bit of an overkill for them, its not a big home or large install. They have aprox 15 Insteon devices total. Switching them to a Insteon Hub isnt an option because they are using older 2476 Switchlincs and 2486D Keypads which I don't believe are compatible. BTW Does anyone know of a url with specific device numbers for the Insteon Hub (newest version)? All I see is the generic page but it doesnt specifically state 2476D or 2477D switchlincs, so can it do both? Thoughts? Scottmichaelj Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 No its not an ICON Switchlinc. Also tried Air Gap, restore, but see the same issue, also does it on all devices so not thinking its a issue with the device.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Hi Scott, UI 4.2.18 is TOO OLD and most probably has an expired certificate (which means that you are going to have major anomalies especially with regards to status of devices). Please follow the instructions here: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Admin_Console_Icon_on_Your_Desktop With kind regards, Michel

You absolutely right the cert is expired and won't load via a browser. That said since I am using the desktop to launch why the status is not updating? I may move forward on my dime to upgrade them. Time is money and $100 isn't worth soaking hours into this.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Scott, All applications go through a security layer. If the certificate is expired, then Java security layer will disable a few things including communications via sockets. With kind regards, Michel
