Michaelcrist Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Hello, Three days ago all my battery powered Insteon Sensors; five motion sensors, three open/close sensors, two hidden door sensors, one leak sensor, all stopped having notifications in ISY. The sensors appear active, I can open a door and see an led blink, the motion sensors all have a blink when detecting motion, but nothing is appearing on the ISY or appearing in the logs. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks, Michael
larryllix Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 You obviously have some common element that has changed. Battery devices need an rf receiver to grab the signals from battery devices. This usually requires a dual band device like some plug in module. Try plugging one in near the battery devices and test again
Michaelcrist Posted October 31, 2016 Author Posted October 31, 2016 I have 18 dual band in-wall switches, outlets, and outlet plug-ins distributed throughout the house. Each battery powered sensor is, at most, five feet with clear line-of-sight to a switch/outlet.

Was the restore successful, if so does the ISY now recognize the device? How old is your PLM, if it's more than two years old then it's possible it's failing and has lost some of its link records.

Putting devices in linking mode and then doing a restore is successful. Thanks! The PLM is less than a year old (having replaced one that was over two years old). My big question is what could have caused the battery powered sensors to become unrecognized.

When you restore a battery operated device be sure only one device at a time is in the linking mode otherwise the devices could get cross linked. Even though the PLM is only a year old it still could have had a problem. What is the date code and version number of the PLM?ss
