Michel Kohanim
Hi All, The APIs are not public and thus we don't really know what's involved in supporting them. With kind regards, Michel Quote Link to comment
Jimbo.Automates
Is ISY Portal compatible with Google Home?Currently only thru IFTTT and maker channel. Works well, but tedious to set up each device. The HA bridge from bwsytems is supposed to work, but my quick try wasn't successful, need to spend more time with it. But I've seen that the official API is supposed to be released in December so hopefully better support soon. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
LWHillman
Can you walk us through setting up IFTTT to run ISY or Mobilinc on a Google Home? Quote Link to comment
Jimbo.Automates
Can you walk us through setting up IFTTT to run ISY or Mobilinc on a Google Home? I don't use mobilinc so can't say. I use it thru UDI Portal. There is info on the google home forum for adding IFTTT: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/googlehome/IFTTT https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/googlehome/SdKaKMQfNNg;context-place=topicsearchin/googlehome/IFTTT This issue has really caused me problems since Home is remembering deleted or renamed recipes. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/googlehome/9-obS6U9Meo;context-place=topicsearchin/googlehome/IFTTT But I could create the step/by/step for IFTTT -> ISY Portal via Maker Channel. Not sure if I'll have any more time to play before going out of town all next week. Edited November 18, 2016 by Jimbo Quote Link to comment
jratliff
I got mine working with the bwssystems habridge. Just have to use port 80. All my devices currently in use with the Echo just showed up when pairing in the Google home app! https://github.com/bwssytems/ha-bridge I love the free speech ifttt triggers on the Google home! I can't wait to see the api for more advanced stuff. I have a lot of Amazon Echo skills but hate having to invoke skill names. 1 Quote Link to comment
Jimbo.Automates
Yes, I finally read that the only option was to use port 80, pretty lame that Google ignore what port the hub says it's on and assumes 80. But at least it works. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment

orrd
I looked through the Google Home developer info, and it looks like it will definitely be possible to add ISY integration if UD wants to do it. On the downside, for now we may be stuck with a round-about way of saying things like "hey google tell isy to turn the lights on". Info on that here: https://developers.google.com/actions/distribute/invocation-and-discovery But there is hope that if UD is approved by Google, Google may eventually approve them as a "direct" action. More info on that here: https://developers.google.com/actions/develop/direct Hopefully UD has already submitted the form to ask Google to approve them as a direct action? Quote Link to comment
Jimbo.Automates
Yes, hopefully Michel has put in the request so they can get Izzy reserved! Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment

Michel Kohanim
Hi Gary, Yes, indeed it is. The good news is that Google Home is cloud based so very minimal dependency on what we are doing with 5.0. With kind regards, Michel 1 Quote Link to comment

kurelgyer
May I suggest making a Google Home topic for a central place to post Google Home info and conversion? I'm thinking there will be / is a lot of interest in the development of this. It would be great to have a header to go to rather than searching the forum for new stuff. Quote Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi kurelgyer, Yes, definitely. This said, we are still investigating ... need to make sure there are no stumbling blocks before we have a dedicated forum. It should not be long though. MWareman
Here is the link to apply for early access to voice actions for assistant. In the vertical, they list 'Home Automation'. https://assistant.google.com/developer/eap/ It was listed in a blog post by Google earlier today: https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2016/12/start-building-actions-on-google.html Conversational actions look rather like Alexa's skills. You initiate a conversation 'Hey Google, talk to Izzy' then the custom action takes over. It would be neat if UDI could get 'Talk to home'... G W
I'd like to see a Google and Amazon area under Third Party Products so we have a common area to discuss them. I'm Gary Funk and I wrote this message. Quote Link to comment
RichTJ99
While i have an Echo - I would love to add a Google Home. The Echo is limited in terms of general searches - it works great for the lights though. I would think GH would excel at both. Plus they had a superbowl ad! 1 Quote Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi RichTJ99, We are waiting for Google to send us permission/APIs to use Direct Actions. With kind regards, Michel 5 Quote Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hello all, Just an update: we have not heard back from them. Since the original submitted form did not even produce a confirmation, I thought perhaps I had done something wrong. So, I submitted it again and it seems these forms go into a black hole. I just hope this does not become another Harmony Hub. If anyone has any contact at Google Home, please do not hesitate to use them! With kind regards, Michel Quote Link to comment
