I’m aware, after some trial and error, that vocalizing “Alexa turn on “program name” should run an Isy program (then).    I also thought that conversely, vocalizing “Alexa  turn OFF “program name” should run an Isy program (else).  I’m not finding that to be true.  It appears that “turn on” and “turn off  “produce the same result - the “then” portion of the program.  Am I mistaken?

Thanks.

Your original premise is correct, On runs THEN and Off runs ELSE. All my Alexa programs run that way.

Got it.  I'm apparently getting confused between device names, program names, and Alexa names.  Too many of the same.  Today's session cleared up a lot of stuff.  Now I need to make a comprehensive plan.

Thanks.

I orginally gave things/program multiple names.

-Kitchen Lights

-Kitchen bar Lights

-Kitchen

-Bar

-Bar Lights.

That just confused Alexa almost everytime. I suspect the first word is the main search algorithm.

Now I have resided myself to one name, mostly, and all lighting end with the word "Lights". Much better recognition.

It doesn;t matter if the request is for a program that operates two scenes, 15 Hue bulbs and 12 iLight bulbs and strips. No more "mood" or other terms...just "lights". Very seldom asks again or fails now.

But I have also found the expression syntax of

...Alexa, Turn On/Off XXXX

works best.

For dimming the same thing applies

...Alexa, Turn On xxxx to 50%
