How can I add an image to a post?

This is driving my crazy. Everytime I try to add an image using the <image> tool from the tool bar I get..."This image format is not support" I am using a valid URL and not a direct link to the image.

Below is an example of the URL I am trying to use. And yet if I try to add it as an image I get the above error. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help.

I get the same thing.   The image button used to work, but stopped sometime around the most recent website update.

If you use the advanced editor, at the bottom of the edit window is "Attach Files", where you can browse for a file, then attach it to the post.

It's because your 'link' is to a web page, and not the actual image.  I beleive this board's software, like most, will only recognize a few image file formats, and reject everything else.  Valid image file formats include files that end in '.jpg', '.png' etc.

If you right click on the picture found in your link, you will see the actual name of the image's file, which ends in '.jpg', a valid file format: 'http://i.imgur.com/r92K62x.jpg'. When you put that into the image box here, you get this:

r92K62x.jpg

Hope this helps.

Athlon,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That makes perfect sense and is easy to do in the future.
