I hope that I am posting in the right area.

I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to the employees at Universal Devices as well as the contributors to this forum. I recently switched from an unsupervised X-10 installation to Insteon and quickly realized that I needed something to make the setup of the various *lincs easier and to add more intelligence. I want to reduce energy consumption as well as continue to have the comfort and convenience that home automation offers in general so I purchased an ISY-99i since it seemed to be a powerful device that didn't use a lot of power itself.

I managed to setup my Insteon devices from my ISY-99i along with many scenes and a few programs to turn lights on at sunset, etc. This was all pretty straightforward. (I'm an IT guy so please take that with a grain of salt.) This is where it usually gets interesting...

I cannot count the number of times the hype of advanced features in a high-tech product is not quite, um, accurate. The folks at Universal Devices have exceeded my expectations in this regard. All of the features, even the advanced ones, work! I'm able to use programs to keep my KPL buttons indicating what they should, securely access my system remotely and even receive e-mail notices. All of this was made possible by the documentation provided in this forum, the wiki, etc.

Many thanks to all of you out there asking the questions and providing answers. Getting everything working quickly and better than the old X-10 stuff was instrumental in keeping things civil at home. :) I hope to repay the favor in the future by contributing if I can help.
