Alexa now supports Lock as a command, but it does not work on my locks

Alexa now supports the "lock" command.  When I use it on a light, alexa says that command is not available for that device.  However, when I try to use it on one of my locks, alexa says it cannot find the device.  However, when I say "tell isy to lock the ....." it works fine.  Is it because the locks appear as locks and not devices in my portal.  I assume it requires an update to the alexa skill.  Do you have an estimated date for the update?

The Alexa lock command is independent of the ISY. Which lock? Which skill, the lock skill or the ISY skill? Did you add the lock to Alexa?

BTW, it's not a good idea to allow a voice to control a lock (unless you happen to be Ali Baba).

Hello John,

When you say "Alexa, tell isy to lock the .....", you are talking to the ISY custom skill. This has been working since the first implementation.

Now, smart home skills (Alexa, lock ...) also support this since late February. This is currently developed and will be available on the next ISY Portal update.

Note that you can only lock a door, or query the status. You cannot unlock. Alexa smart home skills do not support this for security reasons.

Very smart it doesn't unlock.  I had my garage door working on my Alexia and if standing outside the house could get it to open the garage.

The only restricted devices are door locks. Other devices such as voice commands to garage door openers, either Insteon or Z-Wave, are not restricted at all.

If Alexa can hear you, then it will respond B)
