Best Z-Wave repeater to start a network

Featured Replies

Hello. I would like to know which is the best device so I can start my Z-Wave network I want to add Kwikset Smartcode 916 so I need a Z-Wave device that also repeats the secure signal.

I know a year ago it was suggested to use the Aeotec Siren as a repeater so you can start your network.

The Aeotec siren is still the best Z-Wave repeater.

Hello. I bought the Siren however I don't know how to select the different beeps from ISY.

Basically I just bought it to act as a repeater

The Aeotec ZWave doorbell is very similar to the siren in terms of repeaters (I believe they both have the same ZWave tech) and a lot more flexible (and about the same cost).

I have 5 scattered around a larger house and they work well. I only have 1 that I actually use the ability to play different sounds from (and none are actually used as a doorbell, but...)

My doorbell button is still in the box. I only use mine as an annunciator also. :)

Two of my locks in close proximity show my doorbell as their neighbor (and the doorbell shows them as neighbors). The siren and doorbell as both support repeating to locks and the doorbell shows as a ZWAVEPLUS and SECURITY device. It can be included in secure inclusion mode.

In addition, you can read about the ZWave classes and configuration parameters for this device here
