DarkCanuck Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Last night I upgraded my ISY to 4.5.4, and then I proceeded to "Upgrade Z-Wave Firmware" as well. Now, when looking at my devices in the Administrative Console, they are unresponsive and show with a ! beside them. I tried restoring the ISY but no luck. I can't get anything to respond. Any ideas?
larryllix Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 What does 'restoring the ISY? mean? IIRC the admin vonsole does not have that option. Did you mean something else? Sent from my SGH-I257M using Tapatalk

Sent from my SGH-I257M using Tapatalk I went to "File > Restore ISY" and choose a backup that was made prior to upgrading to see if that would help.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Hi DarkCanuck, When you upgrade the firmware on the Z-Wave dongle, Unfortunately you lose all the data which you cannot restore unless you have backed up the dongle. The question are: Why would you upgrade the firmware? Had you ever done Z-Wave / Tools / Backup any time before upgrading the Z-Wave firmware? With kind regards, Michel

With kind regards, Michel I didn't think that upgrading the Z-Wave firmware would have wiped everything; I thought it was just a simple firmware upgrade like every other device. Lesson learned (the hard way) I guess. ...and no, I've never done a Z-Wave > Tools > Backup before. That being said, I assume I need to delete all my devices (I only have 5), Add/Include them all again, and then update my programs to make sure they're using the newly added devices?
Michel Kohanim Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Hi DarkCanuck, Unfortunately so. But do Z-Wave / Tools / Synchronize / All rather than deleting nodes. This will Synchronize ISY with your dongle. With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Hi DarkCanuck, My pleasure and I am so sorry you have to go through this. With kind regards, Michel

MikeD Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 As I understand it, once you do a Z-Wave backup it becomes part of your next ISY backup. If you add another Z-Wave device you need to perform another backup before it becomes part of your next ISY backup.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 MikeD, Correct! Thank you. With kind regards, Michel
