dzarn Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Is there any way to disable the 'Failed Communicating with device' alerts in the admin console, at least for issues that happen while the console isn't actually open? Every time I open the console I have to click through about 40 of these. They're all for 2 Z-wave switches, which both work without issue, so I've never bothered trying to figure out why the ISY doesn't like them. But the alerts are annoying
Michel Kohanim Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Hi Drew, Unfortunately not. But, if those devices are no longer in the system, it's best to do right mouse click | Disable. With kind regards, Michel
Dr Pepper Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I have this issue with my Zwave door lock. Always says it cant communicate but yet it works just fine. But I get the alerts and have to click through them. Why does it say communication failure if it works? What I did notice is I can lock and unlock all day long by manually doing so from the AC and not comm failure. But if I do it from a program it always comes up as a Comm Failure.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Hi Dr Pepper, Which ISY firmware? With kind regards, Michel
PhanTomiZ Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) Hello, I'm having similar issues with having to drill down to get rid of 'Failed Communicating with device' alerts in the admin console. In my situation, I will get these alerts/errors when the Admin Console is already running and my Z-Wave Kwikset locks are triggered through programs. Doesn't happen all the time, but when it does the errors can get as deep as 10 at a time. Meanwhile the locks are running through the programs without faulting. These are the only Z-Wave battery operated devices linked to my ISY. I have Z Wave Aeotec Multisensors installed via USB power within 10' of each door acting as repeaters and I'm using V.4.54 Z-Wave 4.55. PhanTomiZ Edited June 19, 2017 by PhanTomiZ
dzarn Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 I hadn't correlated it with the programs, but that's what it is. Mine is an Enerwave ZW500DM switch. Like above, manually controlling it from the admin console works fine. I have a program setup so that a KeypadLinc button can control the Z-wave switch, and that's what triggers the Failed Comm alert. I'm on 4.5.4.
Dr Pepper Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I am running 5.0.10 but this had happened in the 4.X firmware as well and one reason I had been dying to update to the 5.X. Its not the worst problem to have but if you have the time to track it down it would be appreciated. Looks like a few others are seeing it to.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Thanks for the feedback everyone. With kind regards, Michel 1
Dr Pepper Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Michel was anyone able to track this down and if so will there be a fix in the next release of 5.X? Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Dr. Pepper, This requires a comprehensive solution. It's on our requiremnets list but I cannot give you an ETA. With kind regards,Michel
