gsrbob Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 Dont listen to Larry Get the ISY portal and be done. It will open up a ton of features and you wont have to mess with DDNS, python or anything else. $$ well spent.
paulbates Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 To add to Scott's comments: If you average it out over 2 years, the ISY Portal costs ~$2 a month. It eliminates the risks associated with opening ports on your LAN, especially common ones. You get the functionality of the ISY network module included plus integration with the Amazon Echo and Google Home. You can also access the ISY Admin Console remotely through the portal. Paul

I thought we sent you back to the future Yeah, if you are planning on using an amazon or google vocal box, the ISY Portal is a good combination deal and much easier, if the $66.50 Canuck, per two years (no metric there) isn't an excessive burden, as it was to so many of us more underprivileged users. Shipping and handling is free for the next, hmmmmm.... lifetime? I use both the ISY portal and my own as mentioned above. Paul used to say "Less than the price of a coffee per month", but then the Star$Buck$ habit developed
