leonpc Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I have Bali Autoview blinds installed and connected to work with my ISY994iZw. I have 5.0.10 installed. To allow local control with the Autoview remote control, you have to include the Autoview remote control in ISY. Before I added the blinds and drapes to ISY I also had a single channel remote that I could use as a master remote to control a group of blinds. After connected teverything to ISY the local remotes still work but the group controller does not. I understand why that happens but thought that I can address the issue by creating a scene and adding the blinds/drapes I want group together and then add the remote as a controller. This however does not work. I can not make the remote a controller of the scene. Since that did not work, I figured I would create a program to do the work. This unfortunately is not possible. When looking at the Remote definition in ISY, the only thing I can do, is query the device. Is there a way to work around this?
Michel Kohanim Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Hi leonpc, What's your firmware version? With kind regards, Michel
leonpc Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 Hi Michel It may not have been clear from the post but I have firmware version 5.0.10 installed on the ISY.
leonpc Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 Yes both the firmware and the UI is at v5.0.10
Michel Kohanim Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Hi leonpc, Thank you. I have forwarded this question to Chris. With kind regards, Michel
leonpc Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Thanks Michel So some more info that may or may not help. Earlier tonight I was reading the forum on heiling zwave networks and the whole discussion if battery powered devices get updated or not and who you would trigger it. I decided that doing a Zwave network healing cannot harm anything and it may just make things better. Well under Insteon when you change the configuration of a battery power device, you need to "wake up" the device to allow ISY to write the update to the device. Using the same logic I hit the set button on the 1 Channel Autoview remote and then triggered the network heal. I noticed that suddenly I had more nodes as part of the 1CH Remote definition. The remote now includes 3 scene buttons. I can add these scene buttons to the blinds scene I created. However when you look at the scene button the only option you have is a query. There is not On or Off function available. Based on that I can not use it as a controller within the scene or within any programs. I was looking at the diagnostic log output while the network heal was taking place and none of the battery powered remotes were included in the update. I was also looking at the log while using the remote with the blinds to see if I can troubleshoot why it was not working. The interesting thing is one blind of the group is responding but the log show absolutely nothing.
leonpc Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 There is a discussion on the SmartThings community pages where people are using the remote with SmartThings and the blinds. They make the comment that the remote does not have to be tied to the Bali Blinds and can be re-used as a trigger for other devices like a light switch. This made me wonder if anybody on ISY has gotten that to work and that I just configured it all wrong...? See this here https://community.smartthings.com/t/bali-autoview-2-button-remote/85478/2
Michel Kohanim Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Hi leonpc, Thanks so very much for the update. You haven't configured anything wrong. Can you please right mouse click on any of the nodes | Z-Wave | Show Information in Event Viewer | All, and then paste the contents here? With kind regards, Michel
