apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Just got a mailed promo from SH. 20% off multipacks. The 5 pack price has been lowered to $175, then another 20%. That brings it down to less than $28/swtich. I bought 20 and got free shipping. Soon I'll have replaced all my old switches. Now I feel bad that I bought a bunch at the old 5 pack price of $211 during the 25% off sale. Those ended up being $32/switch.

stusviews Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 There will always be something better and less costly. Feel great that you didn't miss the better sale. Feel great that you'll now have Insteon nearly throughout. Feel great that you didn't buy devices that are not as flexible as Insteon Feel great that you didn't have to spend a lot more for instant feedback that Insteon includes as a standard feature. Feel great that all your HA switches match. Just feel great
lilyoyo1 Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Don't feel to bad. It happens. While I'd love to save every penny I can, Im generally happy over any sale.
stusviews Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Don't feel to bad. It happens. While I'd love to save every penny I can, Im generally happy over any sale. Don't feel bad at all. Even not feeling too bad is too bad. It takes effort to not feel bad. It's well worth the extra effort. Feeling good feels good
apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 Well, hindsight is always 20/20. Still, $32 isn't bad. I only replaced 15 switches at that price. I'm doing 20 at the better price. But who knows, maybe there will be an even better sale. If so, I'll do 20 more. That will pretty much replace every 2476 in my house with a 2477.
paulbates Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Thanks for posting. SH has changed their approach to "Deal of the day" compared to the previous "use this code" for an insteon discount (but xxxx items are excluded". There are some decent deals on packages. If your building, or mass replacing, the deals work out. https://www.smarthome.com/2017-holiday-deals-of-the-day The good news is that they'll continue to honor sale prices from previous days, eg the switch deal from 12/14 is still good. Probably the longer you wait, the more you'll run into back orders. Paul

G W Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 I just received three promo codes if anyone is in need.
apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 I don't envy you. How's the project coming along? I have 29 2476 installed and 39 2477's installed. About 20 of the 2477's are upgrades, the rest were originally 2477's. I have had Insteon now for about 10 years and have gradually expanded it from an original purchase of about 30 devices. That doesn't include lamplincs, kpl's and the like.
ScottAvery Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 ocassionally there are Coupons on Amazon that stack on whatever sale price may be happening, but limited to low numbers. Got a single on/off for $26 a week or so ago. Thanks for heads up on multipack deal at SmartHome!

apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 You got the 20% off coupon code by email or snail mail? snail mail. They stated they were specific to me and are printed in the address field. I got two (two addresses) and the codes were different and not the usual generic stuff like sale17 or something.
ScottAvery Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 snail mail. They stated they were specific to me and are printed in the address field. I got two (two addresses) and the codes were different and not the usual generic stuff like sale17 or something. ah,that explains it. Wife tosses junk mail and I only have made one order from this address. bah, could have used 5 or 10 more
apostolakisl Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 According to the rules, the code only works once. The image above does not show his code. Not sure if they connect the code to the address/customer, but they say "it is non-transferable" which to me means they do.
G W Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I blocked out the code. EDIT: All codes given out and used successfully.
ScottAvery Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Thank you, both, more unnecessary gadgets enroute.

ScottAvery Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Would any work for Range Extenders? Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk I didn't see any ranger extender multipacks. They did have lamplincs, but the better deal on those is starter kits with 2 lamplincs each. I bought 15 kits for $30 each on clearance elsewhere.
Brian H Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Nice thing about the LampLinc and On/Off modules. In a cheaper cost kit than Smarthome sales. They can also be used as a Range Extender with nothing used on the output outlet. My Range Extenders are actually a 2457D2 LampLinc with the dimmer parts not installed. Even the same FCC ID on them. Probably a different firmware. I rarely even get any sale messages from them anymore. A few days ago "We Miss You" one and 10%.
ScottAvery Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 They shipped my switch order without responding to my email request to add a signalinc. bummer. I opened my amazon package with the single on/off switch and was shocked to see it in a full retail box that looked like and Apple or Samsung product. White box, high-res image, colorful icons. I have never gotten an Insteon product not in a plain box with a sticker label.
lilyoyo1 Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Insteon has new packaging for their devices. At some point those old boxes will disappear completely.
Brian H Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 I got two I/O Linc's in a retail box with the retail stock number on it. In a Refurbished sale from Smarthome awhile back. Where brand new. I suspect surplus stock.
