Any way to tell if a device has been added securely?

I'm running v4.6.2 on a 994i/IR PRO and have at least a few devices that support secure connections... The most recent was a AEOTEC Gen5 Siren that I bought specifically to help reduce the connection failures I've been getting communicating with my Kwikset lock.

I also have a bunch of GE outlets and switches that I'm not sure support secure connections or not.

I haven't been able to find any indication in the GUI as to whether any specific device is communicating/was discovered securely or not. Is there any way to tell?

They are all working/controllable... though even after installing the Siren about 15 feet from the lock (though a floor below) and about 10 feet from the ISY it hasn't helped reduce the connection failures with the lock.

When adding a new device, the ISY indicates "secure" in the debug log, but I'm not sure how to tell if a device is secure or not without some sort of Z-Wave sniffer.

Watching the ISY log messages while including a new device, you'll see "Secure" show up as the device is added, look for lines like these:

Mon 02/27/2017 16:23:44 : Exchanging data with secure Z-Wave device 13 of type 4.16.1
Mon 02/27/2017 16:23:44 : Adding secure Z-Wave device

Aeotec says repeaters don't need any special process to be securely included; their Siren always tries to add securely.

Thanks. Don't really want to remove and re-add all the Z-Wave devices in the house to find out if they were added securely though. I might redo the siren just to see though.

Sure would be nice if there was a little padlock icon next to secured devices in the GUI like used in web browsers? :-) Maybe in 6.0...

I have the ISY option to "allow secure devices to be added" selected... But since there's no confirmation in the UI that a given device really IS communicating securely I wasn't sure if I could have missed something.

The current "new" extenders and lightbulbs etc. from AeoTech MUST be put in security mode explicitly .  According to the user guide you need to double tap to include in security mode.  You get a blue indicator light to confirm a secure connection.  I do not know about older units.

I would recommend you check the user manuals for your devices between the lock and the ISY and confirm that they do not require a specific include sequence.
