asbril Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I have several Zwave door sensors and recently I get this error message, basically all the time. Initially I believed that it was the battery which I changed (and shows 100%), but still the same message. However the door sensor DOES work in its programs, so when I need it, it communicates. What could be the cause of this issue ?

If you watch the level 3 log it looks like the device wakes up, the ISY puts it to sleep but then tries to communicate with it. If you turn off the put devices to sleep zwave option, that fixes it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk Does turning off put device to sleep mean that the battery is always in use. If so, then it's not only is it not an ideal solution, it's a terrible solution. OTOH, if it does not mean that the battery is always in use, then the solution is OK.

No, it means the device goes back to sleep on it's own, which is usually pretty quickly, instead of the ISY putting back to sleep immediately.

Not sure which ones you have, but it's happening with my Aeotec Door/Window ZW089-2 and ZW112-A's at my lake house, and did not seem to be happening with my ZW097-A dry contact sensors at home.

What brand are your dry contact sensors ?
