X-10 signals not being received and Echo just stopped

Hi,

All of a sudden ISY not receiving X10 commands or is Alexa working to send commands to INSTEON.

Nothing on configuration changed.

I have a X10 signal relay and it working fine and receiving commands and sending commands ok.

I using X-10 transceiver module for sensors and that is working ok.

What is really disturbing also is Alexia acknowledges commands sent but the ISY does nothing.

I checked Diagnostics and no X10 command are received but is commands  sending OK.

This PLM is only about a year old. The old one crapped out because of a bad capacitor.

Has something changed on the Alexa side I am not aware of?

Is another PLM blown out???

I am a cancer patient and have limited mobility and rally need this up and running soon!

I have been interfacing with X10 motion sensors to set chimes and alert me to outdoor activity. This was working great until recently.

Thanks.

Have you changed anything in the home.

Like a new electronic device or moving an existing device?  Some devices make power line noise or absorb X10 power line signals.

So another possibility is the X10 commands are not reaching the PLM or noise is masking them.

Does programs still work from the isy? Does your Insteon device statuses change in the ISY? If so, it's probably not your plm

Hi,

Devices at erratic. programs not working, but sometimes x-1 routines that send command working. No receiving commands working.

Jeff of JV Digital Engineering. Has a good set of X10 troubleshooting tutorials. That may give you some tips on X10.

Sometimes nothing in the home has changed but maybe deteriorating causing issues.

Can't comment on Alexa.

Not just X-10 problem. All Insteon sensors not working. Support says PLM going and I should replace. This will be the third one, last was 18 months ago. Being retired and $100 a pop I wonder has any found a solution to this problem? It is getting to a point that I cannot support ever 18 months. Last one I replaced I was told that the capacitor was the problem and new ones solved that problem. Obviously not either was the problem or never resolved. Suggestions?

Insteon Sensors are RF devices. Do you have any other Dual Band Modules or Range Extenders to receive them or only the RF section of the 2413S PLM?

I second the PLM is not an the Computing Equipment  circuit or UPS. Both can effect power line receivers and sender in the PLM and x10 is strictly power line.

Don't know if this will help, but my Echo's once completely stopped responding to spokens. I unplugged all of them. Gave them a few minutes and plugged them back in. It took a while for them to reboot and then all was well.
