Andrew Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Hi all, No issues setting up Insteon Outdoor On/Off Switch inside... works perfectly. But when I move it literally to the other side of the wall, outside, I lose communications with it. There doesn't seem to be any trouble with the outlet, as plugging the light into it directly works fine. Any thoughts? Thanks- Andrew
paulbates Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Hi Andrew Two possibilities Moving it outside has put it outside of the range of insteon powerline and rf signals. One part of my house has insulation backed in a foil like material and its bad news for insteon rf. What if you take another insteon plug in module like a lamplinc and put it in the same outside spot, what happens? The load being controlled might be causing problems.. especially pumps and low voltage lighting transformers. Did you try it outside, but with nothing plugged into it. Paul
Andrew Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Hey Paul! Thanks for the note. It's raining out now so I don't want to take chances with one of my indoor plugs, but I'll try it out when it's dry. The load is just a 6V LED landscape spot, but I also tried it with nothing plugged in. For what it's worth, the same device used to work in the same plug. cheers Andrew
Scottmichaelj Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Wonder if you plug another Insteon device on the same plug inside would help? You would have to add it to your lighting.

The other possibility is somehow a new noise source be a factor.. anything else change? I've had older GFICs be a problem and have to swap them. Paul
