Posted June 9, 20187 yr I replaced my very old PLM with a modern dual band optoin. I followed the instructions in the wiki. All the devices including battery operated are fine except one KPL. The KPL still works but I can't write updates to it. This is an ISY994i/ZW-Pro 4.6.2 the KPL is 2486D v.29 Log below but I find it odd about the Hops Left going between 3 and 0. Also this is one of my few very old power line only devices. Is the device just bad? I have also done two factory resets. June 10, 20187 yr Hi brockp, Since it seems that ISY can communicate with the PLM (ACK/SRX), I suspect that it's the KPL itself. I suggest doing a factory reset on it and then retry. With kind regards, Michel
June 11, 20187 yr Author Michel, I have already done two factory rests on the KPL with no luck. Assume it's dead? It's in a dual gang box sharing hot and neutral with a dual band dimmer that works just fine. If it's a wireline only signal issues shouldn't that device be a repeater for it? Assume dead?
June 11, 20187 yr brockp, The next test would be to swap the location with one that works. If the problem stays with the KPL then it's dead. With kind regards, Michel
June 23, 20187 yr Author Replacing the KPL with a new one fixed the issue. I have not tried the old one in another location to verify it had issues.
