ISY Backup Alert

I just backed up ISY and thought that it would be nice to request a few things.

1- An email alert to notify me that it is time to backup ISY

…. There would be an option to

      - Enter the number of days between backups

      - Notification - Option for Email, Text or both

2- The last backup date would be displayed on the "Help/About" screen

(Not that I forget things due to "Lack of Youth")

Thanks

Let’s go one step further. Automated backups to a specific folder on a schedule of our choosing. Oh and maybe add a password. Most of the time at 3am my system is just resting for the next days hard work.

That would be awesome but where would failures get reported?
A new event trigger could be created  to run a program of user design to report backup failure. $sys.backupfailure ?

OR Maybe failures can be a email or text notification?

That was my first inclination, but with a trigger generating  sys.variable,  users could do whatever they want with it. eg. Notifications every 7 days when backup fails? Ring my back doorbell, along with the dryer finished? :)

LOL. I am mentally working on a different system for my "alarm level 2" reports with a passed variable specifying how many beeps my buzzLinc makes for each different low levl alarm condition. 1 for high temp., 2 beeps for whatever. This is still a low level alarm but I always have to wait for a notification on my cell phone to know what the beep is about.

Yup using those will allow users to customize the test/email as needed just like the other modules allow us to do.
